We are proud to announce that Dynamic X Plus® has entered into a significant collaboration with Acorn by Synergie on their Employment Hub programe as part of their social value programs. This partnership brings together two distinct disciplines of recruitment and immersive technology to resolve a shared challenge: how to train future talent in the construction industry safely and efficiently.

The Mission: Bridging the Skills Gap  

The construction industry is currently facing a major challenge in the UK. The demand for skilled workers is high, yet for many attempting to enter the sector, there is a disconnect. This is where Acorn steps in.

Acorn plays a vital role in the ecosystem by helping individuals who face barriers to employment find real, sustainable jobs. They collaborate with delivery companies to introduce new talent to the industry, specifically addressing the widening skills gap as part of the joint social value activity. However, stepping onto a construction site for the first time can be overwhelming. Acorn’s mission is to support these individuals, providing them with a fresh start and the confidence required to build a stable career. This work is essential not only for the economy but for the future of the industry itself.

Our Role: Safety Through Simulation  

So, where do we fit in? As a visualisation and immersive technology team, Dynamic X Plus® is collaborating with Acorn to support this social value mission by revamping the induction process as a soft landing to the site.

We will be delivering VR Protex - Immersive VR Health & Safety Experiences as part of our work as a visulisation team. This initiative moves away from the conventional "listen and learn" classroom model and shifts towards "experience and learn".

Why Immersive Learning Works  

Our core belief is that training must evolve. Conventional safety demonstrations can often be passive, whereas VR is dynamic. By placing participants in a hyper-realistic virtual construction site, we offer a safe environment where errors can be made without any real-world repercussions.

VR technology offers distinct benefits for new recruits:

• Muscle Memory and Retention: Research indicates that "doing" a task leads to higher retention rates compared to simply reading about it. VR simulates the physical actions of site safety.

   

• Risk-Free Exposure: Trainees can learn to detect hazards such as working at heights, moving machinery, or trip hazards without being exposed to any harm or any given situation.

   

• Confidence Building: For someone entering the industry for the first time, the noise and scale of a site can be daunting. VR helps desensitise them to the environment, ensuring they are calm and focused once they arrive at the actual location.
